Memorial Day Weekend

I headed to Az for the weekend to visit my dad, stepmom, and my puppy! It was great to spend time with them I am so happy that they have moved closer!! The pool and sunshine did not hurt either ;-) I got to spend Friday and most of Saturday with Barbie having girl time and then Sunday was me and Zander's day to be lazy by the pool he was a littlle unsure of it at first but once I got him in he was happy to chill on the steps.

I was lucky enough to spend Monday with my dad we visited some of his childhood haunts and ate at his favorite pizza place :-)

**I promise I dont have one fat leg and one skinny leg...**
Matt golfed and worked but still managed to find time to be a goof and tease me mercilessly for "abandoning" him...oh boys sooo dramatic haha. My family went to Disneyland for the weekend...Luke is a dork... for those of you who know him do I really need to say more?

Annalyn and her cute family were off to Puerto Rico...until the tornadoes got the flights cancelled and they decided to drive to Florida instead. Apparently memorial weekend is an annual gay pride gathering shin-dig in Pensacola, Fl and my 4 yr old niece is a very inquisitive person. After a few very LOUDly phrased questions Annalyn decided that a few hrs in Fl was enough and the Burch family packed up and headed home lol.

rings, pirates, and golf...

After work Friday I went to SLC to meet up with Matt. We went to OC Tanners to look at Mens' rings... amazing the difference a diamond makes lol. I had to pull my veto vote on the Ute red ring Matt was considering. He ended up picking a really unique ring it is black with silver on the inside I cannot do it justice with words I will just have to post a pic once I pick it up.

Yay soo exciting I am getting married!!! The nice man at the jewelers offered to clean my ring while we were there so now it is even more purrty and sparkly than before! After rings we met Matt's parentals at The Roof in Temple Square... talk about a view!!!! WOWZA! Our mission was to taste a little of everything to help us decide on a menu for the luncheon I took this mission to heart ;-). We saw the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean late that night and I have to say I wasn't that impressed. It was good don't get me wrong I was just expecting more. Johnny Depp was phenomenal as always but I am not sure about Penelope Cruz as a lady pirate but she sure beat the sorry excuse for lady turned pirate that is Keira Knightley. Saturday I met up with Matt at a golf course in Bountiful to watch him play in a tournament and maybe learn a little bit about the game. Imagine my surprise when I actually had fun! OH boy... I may even like it! The golf course was gorgeous combined with Bountiful's stunning views, playing around on a golf cart, and an excuse to check out Matt's very fine derriere (take note ladies that there is A LOT of bending over in golf...I was a BIG fan)... I have decided I will play caddy whenever he wants lol. The game itself is not bad either I was expecting to be bored out of my mind but it really is an interesting game and I found watching the guys struggling to maintain their composure after a particularly bad shot/putt to be immensely entertaining. The only difficult thing for me is to not be such a chatty cathy especially when people are swinging...oops.

Proposal!!

Matt took me for a hike on a trail by Memory Grove in SLC. I was so excited to go on our first hike together when like 5 minutes in he stops and says he needs a break because he was tired from GOLF! So I began to tease him mercilessly. "oh boy golf is sooooo strenuous"! After a little bit we got going and came onto a clearing with easter eggs and he told me to go find all 12. Immediately I start thinking what a dirty rotten girlfriend I am he took me on a gorgeous hike and was sweet enough to have hid easter eggs earlier and what do I do? I make fun of him for being tired! Whoops!

I found all the easter eggs

Each egg contained a coupon I will watch a chick flick, one night of listening to country music, etc. One of the eggs contained a piece of paper that read redeem at end for a special prize...(chocolate covered cinnamon bears??!!)....
  NOPE EVEN BETTER!!
Kachow ain't it purrty!!?!
He got down on one knee and proposed. I cannot begin to describe that feeling. I have never been so happy in my entire life! Turns out our little "break" was because there was a man in the clearing getting my easter eggs and Matt's good buddy, Jon, told him to stall so he could get that goof out of there.

I cannot believe how lucky I am to be getting married to this amazing man August 2, 2011 in the Salt Lake Temple. I love him so much and cannot wait to start our life together!

Our Love Story

If I am going to be blogging about Matt and I it is probably best if I get everyone caught up. Believe it or not my mom is to thank for this match made in heaven! My mom and I NEVER see eye to eye on ANYTHING, we are just polar opposites always have been. So when she gave me a call and let me know she was having a patient's grandson look me up I was thinking thank goodness I have my profile on lock down!! Needless to say, for those of you who know my mother, she kept calling and badgering me until I accepted his friend request and replied to the message he had sent. After creepin all over his facebook I realized two things... the man is a DIE-HARD Ute and DANG cute! Facebook led to texting which led to a first date. I can honestly say it is the only time I have ever raided my brother's closet for a date! When I came down the stairs I would have given anything to have been able to take a picture of Matt's face, he wasted no time to inform me that he would not take me out in public as long as I wore the TCU shirt (they had slaughtered Utah 47-7 that football season). When I finished laughing I ran upstairs to change and by time I came back down my family had captured Matt so for the next 30 mins I sat and listened to him talk to the fam (lame!). We finally got out of the house to go to dinner and I had already chalked him up to just another one time free dinner but then we got to Panda... Non stop conversation and he was/is so funny, I was literally in tears from laughing. After chatting till close we went back to my casa to watch a movie and the rest is pretty much history :-)

Going to give blogging a shot!

I love being able to keep up with my family and friends through their blogs. I never started a blog of my own because up until this point I was perfectly content with facebook and nothing real blog worthy was going on in my life, not to mention the fact that I am completely technologically challenged. Slowly but surely most of the blogs I kept up with have gone private and then I became engaged to the most amazing man on this planet! So in order to keep up with the family and to document the beginning of forever with Matt I am starting a blog for our very own!!!!
